So, this week it was LIFE, CAMERA, WHACTION as films competed in the 5th annual Toscars at Supperclub.
Congratulations to all nominees and film participants, the standard was raised significantly and the event was quite remarkable. Bruce Vilanch said it best… “This event is way more fun than the actual Oscars.” and he was right. Huge thanks to the talented and funny Jim Tavare who MC’d the evening for us, and big hugs to your Judges, Sandro Monetti told me that the thinks the event is gonna get bigger and bigger as each year goes by, Siobhan Fahey looked stunning, as did Drew Droege as Chloe on the red carpet. Skeet Ulrich wanted to vote for Saw Horse but said the acting was a little too wooden LOL. Bradley Walsh had some fun British banter with Jim on the stage before presenting the best whactress award to London Flair PR client Laura Waddell for ‘Midnight in Parody’ and Bruce gave the awards for best screenplay and best movie (‘Midnight in Parody’ and the ‘Con-Artist’, respectively).
The winner of the 2012 Toscar for Best Parody The Con-Artist.
A huge thank you to all that attended and bid on the silent auction. We raised $2,600 for the charity The Actors Fund, who do such great work for lost souls and struggling artists throughout the US. Congrats to all the winners and participants. And big thank you’s to all our volunteers and sponsors – Bernard Sidman Immigration Attorney, Geek Eyewear, Blue Ice Vodka, Supper Club and Insert Music.
Thanks to James Ridley who helped us produce the event and did a smashing job, I’m sure you’ll agree. And Catherine Lyn Scott from London Flair PR who ran the red carpet superbly and got us lots of good press. See all the press at www.thetoscars.com
