Big Bang Theory star Alice Amter arrived at the ALMA’s in a beautiful floor length blue lace dress and she didn’t go unnoticed.  Style Bistro loved her dress and placed her on the best dressed list for the award ceremony.

The Con-Artist Wins Big at this years Brits in LA’s Toscars

On February 21st at the Supperclub in Hollywood the much-anticipated awards ceremony Brits in LA’s ‘Toscars’ was opened by Royal favorite and BAFTA winner ‘Jim Tavaré’, this wonderful British comic entertained the glamorous crowd of guests and celebrities.

The Toscars celebrates parodies of each of the Academy nominated films, which are produced in only three weeks and the names of the films changed.  This years films kept the audience laughing and were judged and awarded by special celebrity guests.  During deliberations ‘America’s Got Talent’s’ Michael Lipari wowed the crowd with his breath taking ariel performance to Whitney Houston’s ‘One Moment in Time’.

The prestigious golden fist award for Best Whactor was presented by Skeet Ulrich to Ewan Chung for ‘Extremely Jittery and Incredibly Obnoxious’  (Ewan is a three time Toscar winner), Bradley Walsh presented the Best Whactress award to Laura Waddell for her role as Rachel McAdams in ‘Midnight in Parody’ and Oscar writer Bruce Vilanch presented Best Film ‘The Con-Artist’.  Other celebrity judges sharing their expertise were Banarama’s Siobhan Fahey, Drew Droege as Chloe Sevigny and BAFTA’s Sandro Monetti.

Brits in LA Presents The 5th Annual Toscars

On the 21st February the much-awaited award ceremony ‘The Toscars’ will be held at Hollywood’s premier venue The Supperclub.  Non other than the Queen’s favorite British comedian and BAFTA winner Jim Tavare will host this fun filled event, which has been rumored to be the most fun attendees will have during the awards season!  A panel of celebrity experts will judge the short parodies of the 9 Oscar nominated films including multiple EMMY winner and Oscar writer Bruce Vilanch, one of Hollywood’s favorite TV and Film stars Skeet Ulrich, 80’s icon Siobhan Fahey from Bananarama and Perez Hilton’s favorite Drew Droege.

The glamorous red carpet awards ceremony ‘The Toscars’ is now in it’s 5th year and will benefit The Actors Fund.  As soon as the 2012 Oscar nominees for best picture were announced, plots were written, actors were cast and it was time for ‘lights, camera, action’ to film these humorous parodies.  Last year ‘The King Speak’ took the Toscar.  Other coveted awards are given to the best ‘Whactress’ or ‘Whactor’ of the night.  Actors starring in the films are from hits like True Blood, NCIS:LA, Fringe, Desperate Housewives and a special aerial Performance by cirque artist  Michael Lipari is set to wow the audience.

Previous years have seen British celebrities Michael Sheen, Luke Evans and Chris O’Dowd enjoy in the festivities.   This year will be bigger and better then ever.  Who will win the 2012 Toscar and be gifted the golden fist?  We will find out on February 21st.
